The Manning General Hospital laboratory and radiology departments are always striving to stay updated on the latest technologies and processes to serve you with faster, more effective results. Our laboratory is CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment) certified.  We perform the following tests and studies inside the facility: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Banking.  To learn more, click on each link.

Hematology
Hematology is the study of blood, blood-forming tissue, and disorders of blood.  Common tests used in the investigation of hematological problems include full blood counts, blood films, and bone marrow biopsies.  These tests allow us to see if there is an infection or the need for a blood transfusion.

Chemistry
Chemistry allows the lab to test the different organs and enzymes of the body and measure how they are functioning.

Coagulation
Coagulation of blood is a complex process during which blood forms solid clots. Chemical interactions are required to dissolve the blood clot as the body heals.  This process allows us to measure the effect of the chemical provided.

Urinalysis
Urinalysis is used to test whether there are infections of the urine.  Urinalysis can reveal diseases that have gone unnoticed because they do not produce striking signs or symptoms. Examples include diabetes mellitus, various forms of kidney disease, and chronic urinary tract infections.

Blood Banking
The hospital also does blood banking.  We collect, test, process, and store blood. This is vital for emergency and surgical medical reasons. You can ensure that our laboratory is safe and effective when it comes to the use of blood and its components.
