FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dream Light Campaign draws to
an end
As the
holiday season comes to an end, so does the West Central
Iowa Healthcare Foundation’s 13th annual Dream
Light Campaign. This year the Foundation raised more than
$2500 as a result of people “lighting a light” for loved
ones.
“On behalf
of the Foundation, I’d like to thank the many individuals
who made donations,” said Executive Director Becky Vonnahme.
“The Dream Light Tree really serves a triple purpose during
the holiday season. It not only is a wonderful way to
remember or to honor loved ones by illuminating a light, but
it also adds to the enjoyment of the season by all who pass
by the festive tree or see the listing of names in the
window of the hospital. In addition, it represents a
commitment to enhance healthcare for loved ones living in
and around the Manning community.”
The money
from this year’s campaign will be used to help defray
expenses toward purchasing a new fetal heart monitor for
babies born at Manning Regional Healthcare Center. Vonnahme
reports that the Foundation also received a $2,000 donation
that will be used with the Dream Lights proceeds to enable
the Foundation to have enough funds available to purchase
the needed piece of equipment.
Overall,
the annual Dream Light Tree campaign has allowed the West
Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation to donate more than
$25,000 to the hospital and plaza to purchase necessary
equipment.
