Dr. Josh
Smith is a general surgeon. He completed medical school at
the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences
in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed a five year surgery
residency at Des Moines General Hospital where he served as
the Chief Resident during his final year. He is a member of
American Osteopathic Association, American College of
Osteopathic Surgeons, Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association,
and Polk County Medical Association. He has certifications
with American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, Advanced Trauma
Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric
Advanced Life Support, and Basic Cardiac Life Support.
Dr. Smith
provides surgical care for people of all ages. He performs
laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery as medically
indicated. Dr. Smith provides care for both emergency and
surgical illness. Dr. Smith comes to Manning General
Hospital on an as needed basis.
