Over $9 million in economic impact generated by Manning Regional Healthcare Center
Over the past year, Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) has had an overall impact on area economies of over $9 million, according to a recent report by the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA). The four-part health-care system, consisting of a hospital, physician’s clinic, long-term care facility and substance abuse recovery center, is the largest employer in Manning and the study highlights the employment, income, retail sales and sales tax impact the employer provides to the communities served. Manning Regional Healthcare Center partners with Mercy Clinical Laboratories
Manning Regional Healthcare Center, which has been a Mercy Affiliate member for 25 years, has announced plans to contract with Mercy Clinical Laboratories.
The Manning Regional Healthcare Center laboratory currently has three technicians who perform over 30,000 tests per year. The arrangement with Mercy Clinical Laboratories, which is slated to go into effect in April of this year, will include contracting of reference lab and pathology services as well as the Medical Directorship of the clinical laboratory by Dr. Dale Andres.
Manning Regional Healthcare Center is a comprehensive not-for-profit healthcare system in West Central Iowa that services a geographical population of nearly 33,000 individuals and a primary population of over 4,500. The four-part system consists of a 17-bed critical access hospital, a 13-bed chemical dependency treatment center, a 56-bed long-term care facility and a physician’s clinic. MRHC is the largest employer in Manning with 190 employees and provides an estimated $7.6 million in economic impact to the area served.
Nulle family and Templeton Savings Bank donate to Manning Plaza
Long before Rose Nulle became a resident at the Manning Plaza, she was a long-standing member of the Manning Regional Healthcare Center Auxiliary and a volunteer at the long-term care facility. It is because of those years of dedicated service and in appreciation of the care she received as a patient that her family designated a memorial in her name. Her husband Wes and their children, Theresa Irlbeck and Lynn Nulle, have presented a donation to the Manning Plaza that has been used to purchase a forty-seven inch smart television for the dining room. Manning Regional Healthcare Center board names new CEO
Mercy Medical Center and the Manning Regional Healthcare Center board of directors are pleased to announce that John O’Brien of Iowa Falls has been named Chief Executive Officer.
“We want to welcome Mr. O’Brien to the community,” said board president Randy Behrens. “He has considerable healthcare experience, and we are confident that he will be a good fit and a fine leader for the future of our facility.” (More)
Testing begins on proposed site for Manning Regional Healthcare Center
In the past week, two different testing processes have gotten underway on the proposed site of a new healthcare facility for Manning Regional Healthcare Center. The site, locat
ed on the southwest corner of West 6th Street (Highway 141) and West Street in Manning, is a 43 acre plot that was donated to Manning Regional Healthcare Center by the West Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation in November of 2010. The routine tests being performed are a part of the due diligence required for assessment of both environmental and geographical site considerations for the proposed new healthcare facility. (More)
Pre-natal Classes Scheduled

MRHC has scheduled pre-natal classes for their expectant parents. The dates are March 10th, April 21st, May 5th and June 2nd. All classes start at 8am and run until 1pm.
