Obtains and collects specimens for lab testing, including but not limited to blood and urine. Performs venipunctures and fingersticks using aseptic technique. Within scope of training, prepares specimens and performs lab analyses and quality control testing in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures. Assists Laboratory Technologist with the completion of proficiencey testing. Maintains lab's standard work for filing and record keeping of charts, graphs and patient results. High school graduate or equivalent. MLT or previous training in a lab preferred or Phlebotomy/Laboratory Assitant program completion required.
