Director of Surgical Services

Joy Blom, RN, serves as Director of Surgical Services at Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC), where she is known for her compassionate care, leadership, and dedication to improving patient services. In recognition of her exceptional nursing care, Joy received the 2024 DAISY Award, a national honor celebrating nurses who provide extraordinary clinical skill and compassion. Patients and colleagues consistently describe her as caring, supportive, and committed to delivering excellent care close to home.

Joy began her healthcare career as an LPN working in medical/surgical and OB/nursery care before returning to school to earn her Registered Nurse (RN) degree through her employer’s tuition assistance program. She worked for Manning Plaza for 16 years before joining MRHC as Nursing IT Coordinator, later cross training in the emergency room and surgery departments. In 2020, she became Director of Surgical Services, where she continues to help expand surgical offerings and support quality care for the community.
