MRHC is pleased to announce the addition of Nicole Weyers, Au.D., CCC-A, to its specialty clinic team. As a Clinical Audiologist, Weyers will provide comprehensive audiological evaluations, hearing aid consultations and fittings, and pediatric audiological testing in Manning on the third Wednesday of every month.
Weyers can see patients three months old and up to perform hearing tests and help patients with hearing loss and sore or plugged ears. Other common reasons individuals should see an audiologist include long-standing hearing issues, recent or sudden changes in hearing, amplification option discussion, and questions regarding hearing status.
“I fell in love with the field of audiology during my time as an undergraduate student,” Weyers shared. “It was the unique anatomy and physiology of the auditory system that pulled me in and patient care gratification that made me stay. There is something wonderful about helping individuals improve their quality of life through amplification.”
Patients do not need a referral to be seen. However, if Weyers’ evaluation indicates potential medical management, she will refer patients to a physician.
Weyers brings a wealth of experience to MRHC, having completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has also completed clinical rotations in various settings, including ENT clinics, private practices, pediatric clinics, and hospitals. Weyers completed her residency with the Nebraska-Western Iowa VA Health Care System.
