MRHC to Host Free Farm Safety Camp for Kids

Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) is inviting area youth age 8-12 to attend a free Farm Safety Camp on Thursday, July 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Templeton Center Gym (230 S. 5th Ave., Templeton).

Designed to help children stay safe on the farm, the camp will feature interactive, hands-on learning from local experts. Participants will learn about animal safety from Manning Veterinary Associates, basic first aid and Stop the Bleed from Carroll County Public Health, and ATV/UTV safety from Haley Implement. Each child will also help create a farm first aid kit to take home.

“Many children in our community spend time on or around farms, so it’s important they understand how to stay safe,” shared Education Director Tina Riesberg, RRT, RCP, BSHM, EMT. “Farm Safety Camp gives kids practical, hands-on experiences that teach them to recognize risks and make smart decisions while still having fun.”

The event is free to attend, and lunch will be provided for all participants.

Space is limited to 25 participants, and advance registration is required.
