Occupational Therapy

Amy Osbahr, OTR/L joined MRHC as an Occupational Therapist in November of 2023. She has experience treating a wide range of diagnoses for individuals of all ages. Amy provides occupational therapy for children with developmental delays and adults who have difficulties with routine care. She works to get elderly people stronger and back home to be able to live independently.

Certified in many areas, Amy provides neurological rehabilitation (for conditions like strokes, cerebral palsy, and multiple sclerosis) and therapy for orthopedic conditions (managing joint replacements, wrist pain, sprains, fractures, arthritis, and more). She is trained in ASTYM treatment, blood flow restriction therapy (BFR), LSVT-BIG Parkinson’s management, lymphedema treatment, and vestibular rehabilitation. She can perform workstation and ergonomics assessments as well as custom wheelchair assessments.

She also provides pediatric care to ensure children are meeting developmental milestones. Amy has over 10 years of experience treating children for many different conditions resulting in developmental delays such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, cerebral palsy, Down’s Syndrome, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, as well as sensory issues and head injuries. Some of the difficulties that Amy can address include:

  • Sensory processing disorder – the inability to respond appropriately to sensory experiences due to our nervous system inaccurately processing sensory information
  • Fine motor skill difficulties (Clumsiness for a child’s given age, inability to grasp objects by 11 months of age, etc., self-care skills, difficulty holding, grooming, eating, and handling utensils; problems with dressing; and difficulty following simple directions.)
